October 21, 2014 | Today, we met for lunch with our friends from our Parkinson’s Women Support group and we introduced ourselves to three new friends, Aura, Sarah and Faith. We’re thrilled to meet them, and we hope to see more of them. After introductions, we took a moment before lunch to choose our very corporate PWS logo as our custom t-shirt design for the Silicon Valley Moving Day walk on April 25, 2014. We mean business!
The Moving Day event has an exciting thing a-brewing. That cool thing is called the Movement Pavilion, a tent under which all things moving happen. Yes, the event is a walk too, but on the same day, special things are going on in that tent, and out of it.
Proud to say, the women in the Parkinson’s Women Support group are joining the group to set up the event, so you know it will be the best event ever. For two years in a row, our good friend Barb has actually traveled to Chicago for their Moving Day. That’s right, she’s our resident experiential note-taker who has returned to the Bay Area with a thick notebook of stuff to note when we set up our Movement Pavilion. Our Nancy is spending her days scouring street fairs for just the right food vendors whom she will coax to roll right up for Moving Day!
What goes on in and around the tent is up to everyone’s imagination and resources. Aside from mini yoga, PWR! exercises, tai chi lessons and Qui gong, there might be dance classes, boxing and whatever else you want to pull together. It is like the circus you always wanted to plan as a child, but never quite pulled it off the way you imagined. Now is your time! If you have an idea for the Movement, please contact Colleen Fischer, Moving Day Bay Area Coordinator National Parkinson Foundation

In addition to volunteering to make the Movement Pavilion shine, please don’t forget to join our team! The walk and the Movement Pavilion won’t be the same without you! Register for Moving Day: http://www.parkinson.org/home.aspx
