New York is one place where you won’t have any problems finding a Movement Disorder Specialist (use the cool interactive link here). After you use this interactive locator link, I suggest  if you’ve been diagnosed, read 7 Things to Do the Day After Your PD Diagnosis. https://parkinsonswomen.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=644&action=edit

OK—I wrote it—but it has a handy list of things to do to get yourself centered. One of the things on the checklist is to read Dr. Melanie Brandabur’s post on choosing a doctor:  https://parkinsonswomen.com/2013/06/01/choosing-a-pd-doctor/ This article is an excellent description about what kind of doc to look for. 1. Actually, I have one of the best PD doctors. What I am looking for is a support group and people who specialize in fitness for a body that is changing from the disease. Also disturbing is the difficulty of finding motivation in my current state of mind.
