Dave’s presentation was provocative, moving and gave all of us in the room something to ponder. His premise is that PD is a disease of subtraction. It takes away and then takes away more. None of us have clear operating instructions regarding how to deal with the challenges of PD. So, we need to remain hopeful and fight back against our losses. Fighting back can take various forms…dancing, running, or being there for others when they need support. It is not always easy but “additive” activities can have a very positive impact on our lives.  This philosophy was beautifully exemplified in Dave Iverson’s newest documentary, Capturing Grace.
